Block 54 - Cupid's Arrow |
I was
sat, between appointments, in a warm supermarket cafe drinking coffee and sewing today’s block. And I realised – I was content – more than
content – I felt blessed. It is
surprising what a little bit of fabric and a needle-and-thread can add to a day
full of commitments.
Beautiful sentiments. We all need to take those moments in time to appreciate blessings.
ReplyDeleteIt was the hand sewing which slowed me down, in amongst all the rushing. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteSo true - it's really important to enjoy the creative process, instead of keeping our eyes on the finish, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! You always use the most gorgeous fabrics for your blocks... Wish I could have been there with you while you had your coffee to watch you sew ;) I need to get my mojo back ;) btw I'm Matilda on IG following you
ReplyDeleteOh Elly, I would've loved to have you there with me, sipping coffee and chuckling. As for getting your mojo back - start with something very small but functional - something that you will find useful and play around with some spring colours and fabrics. Maybe a little wristlet or a small phone holder.
DeleteAww... taking time to enjoy an "ordinary" moment...and thus turning a bit of fabric and thread into an "extraordinary" moment! That is a blessing that we can overlook when we are too busy. I am finding your BAD blocks so inspirational and beautiful... and finding those moments of appreciation a blessing from you, Amanda, to all of us!

My BAD blocks are my playtime. I think the fun shows through!
DeleteAwesome block!!! & your words ring true! We all need to stop & just "Be"...& enjoy the "Moment"! Thanks for reminding us.... You are soooo Special! :)
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you Lori. Moments and kind words - that is what makes life wonderful. xxx
DeleteOh how true. I love those moments when a surge of happiness just happens, often unexpectedly!
ReplyDeleteI think I most probably would have a lot more of those moments if I just slowed down a little!
DeleteThat is an adorable "purse" and for jammies? Genius I never heard of such a thing. And after looking at yours, any excuse to patch something. It's just lovely and how right you are to just sit and be and smile with contentment.

ReplyDeleteI am curious, when you did the stitching around your heart-do you add an interfacing or muslin to the back, or do you just stitch through the one layer of cotton?
