Happy Easter

Bunny Hop Mug Rug Pattern

Happy Easter across the world.  And let's face it - we need renewal this year more than ever.

Log Cabin Cross Mug Rug

I have only just got back to sewing after breaking my elbow badly five weeks ago.  Surgery ensued and I have been unable to cut or lift anything.  So this week I renewed the blade in my rotary cutter so it is extra sharp and began to increase the power in my arm by way of these two Tilda blocks.

It is a slow start but hopefully my sewing ability will increase day-by-day.

In the meantime I just want to wish everybody,
across the world, a Happy Easter
and brighter days to come.

HOPE Mug Rug

The start of another New Year and the challenges continue for all of us.  So, I am making ‘HOPE’ my word of 2021.

To remind me to keep hopeful I have used my very versatile Mug Rug Alphabet pattern to create a quilter's reminder that will sit on my worktable throughout the year.

My HOPE mug rug reminds me of a ditty I often recite when I am in danger of losing hope:

“Two men looked out from prison bars,
One saw the mud the other saw the stars.”

 WISHING YOU ALL A HOPEFUL

NEW YEAR.

Happy Hanukkah Mug Rug

Hanukkah starts this Thursday, 10th December 2020 and I have the perfect mug rug for this special occasion – my Celebration Candles mug rug.

I like this night-time version, which makes the light from the candles seem even brighter:

But the menorah candles shine all day too:

And if you are looking to undertake a project during this period of reflection and gratitude then you could always hand-stitch your own version ready for 2021:

Happy Hanukkah to everybody across the world.
