| Pumpkin Patch Mug Rug Pattern |

– this is the week that I finally get to share my Glorious Autumn block with
you. Becky at Patchwork Posse and Eleanor of Quilt in a Day have blazed the trail this week over at the
Quilting Gallery so
make sure you pay them a visit. Find out
what makes the Patchsmith’s tick whilst you are there by reading my profile and

But
today is my turn and I would like to introduce you to the Spinning Pumpkin
Block.
I have included a PDF download of the block construction and also included with it a free Patchsmith pattern to turn three of these blocks into a lovely, colourful table runner. Feel free to download this pattern for personal use only. However, this pattern is not to be distributed or sold, neither can items made from it be sold without the Patchsmith’s permission. Don’t forget to add your photos to the Glorious Autumn Flickr group when made so we can all get a good look at them - we are a nosey lot here at Patchsmith Palace!
If time doesn’t allow for you to make the table runner just now then why
not make the Pumpkin Patch mug rug from my Etsy Store. This super little mug rug takes just a couple
of hours to put together and there is plenty of room on it for a cup-of-tea and
a pumpkin muffin. In fact, if you batch
make it (a bit like pumpkin muffins) then you should be able to make one for
you and one to give away in a single afternoon.

ReplyDeleteI never kill spiders! We have loads in our house as it's 130 years old, I either put them outside gently, or leave them there! I'd call your spider Heinrich.
ReplyDeleteIn reality neither do I Wendy. We actually have two protected species here in England. I have a spider catcher which enables me to catch them and pop them outside.
DeleteSo just to reassure everybody ........ NO SPIDERS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS BLOG.
But you would know about spiders in England - coming from up north!

We had a spider who lived in our hallway for a long time, our grandchildren love him and called him Redips, Spider...spelt backwards.

Your block is darling -- thank you for generously sharing your pattern and instructions!! Pumpkins are a definite fall favorite of mine! Spiders? Not so much. After a bite from a brown recluse landed me in the hospital for a week and left me with a not-so-pretty souvenir on my leg, I'm more than a little fearful of them! Luckily I do know the difference between harmful spiders and good/helpful spiders! :)

DeleteI just love your Autumn block. Very cute and you are so talented. I am just a little afraid of spiders but my black cat will just love this mug rug. I think these mug rugs are just perfect. Great block! Thanks. When I was in my 20s over 40 years ago spiders were a problem for me as well. I was really sick with the flu, home alone and was sure the jumping black spider with a white spot on his back was trying to kill me. My neighbor wasn't home to come and kill him for me, so I vacuumed him up and through the vacuum out on the porch. I can kill them now....grin.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the spinning pumpkin pattern. Your spider is either very big or the pumpkins are rather small. I would call him Icky. Fabric spiders are fine but the real ones creep me out.

Your patterns are adorable and the spiders are cute even though I think real ones are a little creepy. I know what you mean about walking into a spiderweb in the morning it really creeps me out. I think you should name the spider Shelob.

How cute is that spider!!! I'd call it Spinnaker Spider if it were mine. Don't know why that name popped into my head, but there it is. You need to find the cupcake holders from JoAnn's Fabrics to go with your mug rug. One of my ladies made the cutest pincushion using one of those cupcake holders. They have a round center where the cupcake (or pincushion) sits and eight legs to raise it off the table. They're too cute to be scary.

Love the pumpkins! They would brighten any fall table or wall or make several and have a pumpkin patch on the back of the sofa!
ReplyDeleteOh, the spider.... terrible fear but I would definitely not smash this cutie. For some reason the name "Harry" came to mind. Most spiders in the deserts of AZ tend to be a little on the furry side.

DeleteI am terrified of spiders too and actually in our house they are not even known by their full name but go by the abbreviation 'sp', even the word sounds scarey to me! You are so lucky to have a local fabric shop too, I have to drive a coiupl eof hours to get to anything at all. I am not sure what to call your 'sp 'how about Sputnick the spider.
